About the Department

The Department offers academic programs leading to B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering and M. Tech in Energy System Analysis and Design. The Department has 18 Permanent and 3 Adhoc faculty members. The students intake for UG program is 60 and for PG program is 18.

The faculty members are specialized in various allied fields such as,

The academic activities are supported by state- of- the- art laboratories for,

  • Thermal Engineering Laboratory
  • Energy systems laboratory

All laboratories are managed by well trained technical staff. Several academic and co-curricular activities are organized every year to bring up the department as a Centre of Excellence. The B.Tech. and M.Tech. programmes are now affiliated to the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) which offers a well planned curriculum.

The department functions as an integral unit to provide high quality education that moulds professionally competent and socially committed engineers. The department also offers opportunities for faculty and students to engage in research activities.

The faculty has been active in offering consultancy services to industries and conducting and attending courses regularly to facilitate the continuing education.
